“I look at everything in my life as a learning experience and this is no different.
The experience advantage goes to (Gall); he’s fought in the Octagon and I haven’t.” Gall has won both his UFC fights by first-round submission.
Phil Brooks will make his long-awaited MMA debut at UFC 203 in September. That would be former WWE star CM Punk, to those who follow the wild and woolly world of pro wrestling.
Brooks, who signed with the UFC to much fanfare in in late 2014 after walking away from the WWE, will take on Mickey Gall (2-0) in a welterweight fight at UFC 203 Sept. It will be the first time Brooks steps into the octagon, ending a journey that started nearly a year and a half ago.
But he didn’t question himself, even though it has taken 18 months to get to a fight announcement.
“I didn’t want to wake up someday (thinking) I wish I’d have done this,” he said.
"I don’t think anything’s guaranteed, but I do have a longer contract than just to fight CM Punk," Gall said.
